What type of genre of photography do you photograph? Boudoir
How many years have you been a photographer? 13
What do you love most about photography?
I love connecting with my clients, capturing real emotion and those images that just make you take a breath and go "wow, that's really beautiful'. The power to permanently preserve a memory is pretty dang amazing.
When it comes to products, what made you decide to begin offering products to your clients?
I felt like offering printed albums was a must for boudoir photography. Prior to launching my boudoir brand, I rarely sold anything other than digitals. I wanted to have amazing options for clients to create lasting heirlooms.
Why do you believe print is important?
Here's the thing, what does anyone actually do with digital images? Nothing, 99% of the time. I'm totally guilty of thinking I had to have the digital images every year when we'd go see Santa, I can't even begin to tell you where those digitals are now.
Printed products are lasting. They are treasures that can be passed down from generation to generation. It makes me sad that my children's childhoods are on an iPhone instead of a tangible photo album. It's just so special to hold those printed photographs in your hands. I often think of how my children will have access to the thousands of digital images of their lives, technology continually changes and at some point, the answer is they won't unless I get them printed for them. Print is important because it's tangible, it's not going out of style and you don't need the latest technology to view it.
What products are your number one sellers?
8x8 or 8x10 Albums
What other advice would you give to photographers who aren't selling products but may want too?
It's a game-changer. Your clients will love the UAF line, they'll pay premium prices for the luxury. It's the best thing you can do for your business, honestly. Products allow you to serve your clients from start to the final finished products.
What do you love most about working with UAF?
Obviously, the gorgeous products that sell themselves, but I also love that every single person within the company I've ever met or had a phone conversation with is so kind and wonderful. I've even received calls from Savvy after I sent the proof files instead of print files, it's not every day the owner of a print lab picks up the phone because you sent the wrong files. The customer service is top-notch!
